About our program

The African drum & dance program will give students a form of exercise, self-discipline, self-pride, self-respect and respect for others.  Team work is stressed in this character building program.

Students will learn traditional drum rhythms and   dances from Africa and how rhythm and dance movements are often drawn from observation of animals, the elements and the every day movements of people.

Most important participants will learn how music and dance is a form of communication and is expressed in many ways by people of all ethnic groups and cultures.
